White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy and Deputy Advisor Ali Zaidi join renewable energy conference lineup

WASHINGTON DC, November 29 –The American Clean Power Association today announced that two leading climate advisors to President Biden will join the speaker lineup for the CLEANPOWER 2021 event in Salt Lake City on December 7-8.  White House National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy and Deputy Advisor Ali Zaidi will join ACP CEO Heather Zichal for a live virtual fireside discussion at CLEANPOWER 2021, the leading renewable energy conference. CLEANPOWER brings together the most knowledgeable minds in the clean energy industry to create a collaborative platform for discussing issues that are important to industry professionals and their companies.

Gina McCarthy, National Climate Advisor
Ali Zaidi, Deputy National Climate Advisor

President Biden established the Climate Policy Office in January 2021. The Office convenes the National Climate Task Force, which assembles Cabinet-level leaders from across 21 federal agencies and departments.  It also convenes a wide range of interagency working groups to assist the National Climate Task Force on federal actions to reduce climate pollution in every sector of the economy; increase resilience to the impacts of climate change; protect public health; conserve our lands, waters, oceans, and biodiversity; deliver environmental justice; and spur good-paying, union jobs and economic growth.

“President Biden has set forth a bold agenda to tackle the climate crisis while stimulating economic growth.  We are thrilled to have two of his closest climate advisors as part of CLEANPOWER 2021, which will bring together industry experts, policy leaders and other stakeholders that will be critical to making President Biden’s renewable goals a reality,” ACP CEO Heather Zichal said.

CLEANPOWER’s mission is to not only bring together the different technologies that make up the renewables mix – onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, storage, and transmission – but also the different segments within the industries: manufacturers, construction firms, owner operators, utilities, financial firms, corporate buyers, and more. Full event details can be found here.

ACP has also announced its CLEANPOWER 2021 executive speakers, which include:
