Press Release

Jan 6 2021

Washington, D.C. – January 6, 2021 – The American Clean Power Association (ACP) released the
following statement after the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM)
announced that it will publish a draft environmental analysis of the proposed South Fork
Wind Farm.

“We applaud BOEM for moving ahead to initiate the environmental review for the South
Fork Wind Farm. The offshore wind industry stands ready to deliver immense economic
and environmental benefits to New York communities and others up and down the
Atlantic and Pacific coasts who seek to add this untapped energy source to their
electricity profiles. We remain confident that offshore wind can be compatible with other
ocean users and we appreciate BOEM’s careful analysis of each project as we work
together to approve South Fork and the many other projects waiting for agency review.”
