Press Release

Jun 8 2021

WASHINGTON DC, June 8, 2021 – The American Clean Power Association (ACP) issued the following statement today after the Department of the Interior announced its intent to assess clean energy development on the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf.

“The American clean power industry applauds the Department of Interior for this step forward in delivering the benefits of offshore wind to the Gulf of Mexico, building on recent progress off of America’s East and West coasts. While the Gulf of Mexico has a long history of oil and gas development, this announcement signals new job opportunities for the region, while also helping to meet our nation’s objective of deploying 30 gigawatts of offshore wind by the end of this decade.” – Heather Zichal, ACP CEO
