Jeff Norman

Jeff was Cofounder of the Algonquin Power Venture Fund in 2003 and served as President until it was acquired by Algonquin in 2008.  He was then appointed to the Algonquin Executive team in 2015.  Since 2008,  he has led the BD team in development and construction with over 1,955 MWs of renewable energy projects and acquired 14 utilities.

Jeff has over 28 years of experience reviewing the economic merits of renewable energy projects and utilities throughout North America. On a daily basis, he applies comprehensive management skills and experience including but not limited to short and long-term planning, evaluation, directing and motivating staff, oral and written communication skills, marketing and financial management, values clarification, organizational behavior and development, and governance.

A large part of Jeff’s job requires that he am very results driven, cultivating revenue streams and avenues while furthering the overall mission of the organization.  This includes the teams most recent accomplishment of creating value profits within a 5-year, $9.4 billion capital plan while adhering to the highest ethical standards in management, governance, and revenue development.

Jeff is a graduate of the University of Waterloo with Bachelor of Arts (Chartered Accountancy) and a Masters of Accounting and a Chartered Accountant.
