Al Vickers
Al Vickers is the Chief Executive Officer of bp Wind Energy in the US and a member of bp’s Zero Carbon Energy executive team. Prior to being appointed CEO, he held numerous executive leadership roles across a wide range of energy businesses.
Al is a Director of bp America, bpX, a non-executive Director of bp Bunge BioEnergia in Brazil and a board member of American Clean Power.
Over the years Al has served on a variety of energy industry committees and trade associations, handling issues such as fiscal policy, human capability, risk management and safety and environmental regulations.
Al has a passion for developing diverse talent and is the executive sponsor of numerous diversity and inclusion programs, both within bp and in the Houston community and is a board member of the Asia Society.
Al holds a master’s degree in chemical engineering with a specialism in environmental technology from Manchester University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and a graduate of the Executive Operations Academy at MIT.
In his personal time Al enjoys a variety of outdoor sports – running marathons, skiing, hiking, golf and cycling. Most of all, Al loves spending time with his wife Starlee and their three boys, Jack, Cade and Ethan.
