ACP Names Melanie LaCount as Communications Chief of Staff

WASHINGTON, November 20, 2025 — The American Clean Power Association (ACP) today announced that Melanie LaCount will join the organization as Chief of Staff for Communications. With over two decades of experience in energy policy, strategic communications, and building teams that produce innovative and impactful results, LaCount will support the association’s efforts to communicate the impact of clean energy to drive economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen communities. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Melanie to ACP,” said Artealia Gilliard, ACP’s Chief Communications Officer. “Melanie is an accomplished policy and communications leader whose career has centered on advancing clean energy. As our industry looks to communicate with new audiences, her leadership is the boost of energy we need.” 

LaCount is an accomplished policy and communications leader whose career has centered on advancing clean energy. While at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, she helped shape national energy and environmental policy and led teams to advance environmental progress. LaCount holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from Duke University.
