New in 2026, the EmpowHER Leadership Award recognizes a woman leader who is actively expanding access to networks, opportunities, and resources for others, while championing inclusive practices and helping shape the future of the clean energy sector. Her leadership plays a vital role in fostering a more equitable and dynamic industry.
Through mentorship, advocacy, and community-building, the recipient exemplifies the spirit of EmpowHER—creating opportunities for connection, professional development, and growth. She brings together professionals across the clean energy ecosystem, including developers, engineers, policymakers, investors, and executives, to strengthen the industry’s leadership pipeline.
Finalists for the award will be announced on Wednesday, June 3 at the EmpowHER Luncheon at CLEANPOWER 2026 in Houston, TX, and the winner will be announced on August 6 at the EmpowHER Women’s Leadership Forum in Charlotte, NC.

Award Criteria
Nominees will be evaluated based on the following:
- Leadership in the Clean Energy Industry
- A demonstrated record of leadership, impact, and contributions that support the continued growth of the clean power sector.
- Advancement of Women in the Industry
- Active efforts to support, mentor, sponsor, or create pathways for women in clean energy.
- Commitment to Community & Collaboration
- Engagement in building connections across the industry through programs, partnerships, or initiatives that support professional growth and collaboration.
- Industry Influence & Innovation
- Contributions that strengthen the clean energy workforce, support leadership development, or advance progress across the sector.
- Alignment with the Spirit of EmpowHER
- A demonstrated commitment to supporting others, sharing knowledge, and contributing to a more connected and inclusive clean power community.
