Tara McGee

Tara McGee is Senior Director of Federal Affairs. In this role, Tara helps lead House and Senate engagement on tax and trade issues, working closely with policymakers, industry leaders, and key stakeholders to advocate for policies that support the clean energy economy.

Tara served in Congress for over eleven years beginning in the House of Representatives and then for Senior members of the Senate Republican Conference where she helped advance legislative priorities across many issues, including in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, the CARES Act, and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.

Tara most recently served as Tax and Trade Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Chair of the Republican Policy Committee and Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee. She previously served in legislative roles for U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (MS), U.S. Senator John Cornyn (TX) during his tenure as Senate Republican Whip, and Congressman Randy Neugebauer (TX-19).

Tara currently serves on the Board of the Tax Coalition, a non-partisan organization in Washington DC, for qualified women professionals in federal tax policymaking.

She is from Sugar Land, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University. She enjoys riding bikes, cooking, and working in her community garden with her husband Sean.
