Rod O’Connor
Rod O’Connor is the Chief Commercialization and Engagement Officer and the architect of ACP’s long-term development and activation strategy. He oversees the Meetings, Education and Member Value divisions and works across the association as ACP continues to unroll its multi-tech policy agenda.
O’Connor has a history of advising leaders in business, government, and politics through strategic transitions. He served as an Executive Producer for the 2021 Presidential Inaugural, a senior policy advisor for the 2021 Presidential transition, and he led the effort to re-imagine the four-day 2020 Democratic National Convention as a virtual event during the Covid pandemic. Previously, he was Chief of Staff for the U.S. Department of Energy during the Obama-Biden administration. His experience in that administration is bookended by two stints at AEG, the world’s largest sports and live entertainment company, as SVP and EVP of Facilities and Sports where he helped grow the company from a Los Angeles based venue operator to a global business. He has also served as a senior advisor to former Vice President Gore, President of the XPRIZE Foundation, a Principal of The Messina Group and Global Head of Communications and External Affairs for McCourt Global.
O’Connor holds an MPA from Harvard University and a BA from Hampden-Sydney College. He currently resides with his family in Washington DC.
