The solar energy industry has experienced rapid growth. To maintain this momentum, there is an increased need for states to evaluate the potential cybersecurity implications of solar development and collaborate with agencies and industry to mitigate these risks. Innovative technologies and remote grid support are revolutionizing grid operations but can also expose a solar system to cyber vulnerabilities.
To address this challenge, the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO), with support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Office (SETO), established the Cybersecurity Advisory Team for State Solar (CATSS) which convenes a state-led advisory group to advance education, tools, and technical assistance for solar energy cybersecurity.
Join this PowerCast on September 26th to hear Campbell Delahoyde, NASEO’s Senior Program Director of Energy Security and Resilience; Kirsten Verclas, NASEO’s Senior Managing Director of Electricity; and Sam Ramsey, ACP’s Deputy Director of Safety, Workforce Training, & Operations present on CATSS, actionable strategies and roadmaps for states to address solar cybersecurity , and how these efforts can be considered within the utility-scale solar industry.
