ACP Statement on DOE National Transmission Needs Study

WASHINGTON D.C., February 27, 2023 – American Clean Power Association (ACP) released this statement following the Department of Energy (DOE) release of a National Transmission Needs Study:   

“DOE’s National Transmission Needs Study provides evidence of what the clean power industry knows from experience – America needs more transmission to unlock clean energy development, improve reliability, and deliver affordable electricity to customers. DOE’s transmission study shows that transmission expansion can provide nationwide benefits and will allow DOE to begin consideration of transmission projects that will address the needs identified. ACP looks forward to continued engagement with DOE to finalize the study, build transmission, and deploy hundreds of gigawatts of clean energy across the country.”
