Mike Vavala

Mike Vavala leads ACP’s human resources strategy, focusing on culture, performance, and the overall employee experience. He drives workforce development initiatives while overseeing people operations, talent acquisition, benefits, payroll, compliance, process management, employee services, and people analytics.

With over 20 years of experience in the think tank, nonprofit, and education sectors, Mike brings deep expertise in building high-performing teams and operational excellence. Before joining ACP, he served as Chief Resources Officer at the Bipartisan Policy Center, where he led HR, IT, and facilities management. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the HR and finance teams at the See Forever Foundation, which operates the Maya Angelou Public Charter Schools in Washington, DC. Mike is a graduate of American University with a B.A. in Political Science.
