Miguel Prado
Miguel Ángel Prado is the Chief Executive Officer for EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA) as well as a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of EDP Renewables S.A. (EDPR), the fourth largest producer of wind energy in the world. He also serves as the Head of Global Procurement for EDPR.
Miguel has more than 20 years of investment and strategic analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance experience. He has worked in the EDP Group for more than 15 years, and, in his previous role as global Head of Investments, Mergers and Acquisitions at EDP Renewables, closed more than 70 acquisition transactions in 11 countries, totaling approximately $22 billion in assets. Miguel also previously directed EDPR’s asset rotation strategy, raising more than $2.5 billion by divesting minority stakes aggregating in more than 3 GW of wind and solar assets in North America, Europe, and Brazil.
Prior to joining the EDP Group, Miguel worked as a manager in the Arthur Andersen Corporate Finance Department, where he was responsible for valuation and due diligence coordination for various clients and transactions in Spain and South America. Miguel holds a Bachelor of Business and Management degree from the University of Oviedo and Management Centre of Bradford as well as an Executive Master of Business Administration degree from the IE Business School.
