Elisa Lai

Elisa Lai is Director of Industry Certifications at American Clean Power Association, where she manages certification programs across the wind, solar, and battery energy storage industries. She works closely with industry partners and internal teams on certification adoption, quality assurance, auditing processes, assessor management, systems development, and scaling certification programs to support a rapidly growing clean energy workforce.

Elisa brings more than 10 years of experience in certification programs, standards development, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining ACP, she led VeraSol at CLASP, a global quality assurance and certification program for off-grid solar technologies. In this role, she collaborated with manufacturers, test laboratories, governments, and international organizations to strengthen quality assurance frameworks and support the deployment of high-quality solar technologies across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Her work contributed to expanding access to reliable clean energy technologies for low-income and rural communities worldwide.

Elisa earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Diplomacy and Journalism from National Chengchi University in Taiwan and a master’s degree in International Politics & Global Environmental Policies from American University in Washington DC.
