May 20, 2024 – ACP Files Comments on Gulf of Mexico Offshore Wind Propose Sale Notice

On May 20, 2024, ACP submitted comments on the Gulf of Mexico Public Sale Notice (GOMW-2 PSN). ACP’s comments echoed previous ACP comments on the first Gulf of Mexico wind lease PSN and the Central Atlantic PSN. ACP encouraged BOEM to move forward with leasing in the Gulf of Mexico, highlighting offshore wind’s potential for significant contributions to clean energy and job creation. ACP also encouraged BOEM to make maximum use of bid credits for supply chain/workforce and fisheries compensation. Finally, ACP asked for clarity on—and recommended changes to—the proposed lease conditions. BOEM will review comments on the PSN and issue a Final Sale Notice prior to holding a lease sale.
