Stephanie Smith is the Chief Operating Officer of Eolian, an innovative renewable energy and energy storage company.

Before joining Eolian’s predecessor, MAP Energy, in 2018, she was the founder of Smith Strategic, an independent consultancy focused on the renewable energy and cleantech industries. Prior to that, she was a partner and the COO of Greencastle, a renewable energy and storage project developer, and COO and General Counsel of Sol Systems, a solar finance company.

She began her career as a project development and finance lawyer focused on the renewable energy and natural gas sectors. Stephanie received her J.D., cum laude, in 2002 from Southern Methodist University School of Law, where she was the editor of the Corporate Counsel Symposium, a member of SMU Law Review, and a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar. She received her B.S., magna cum laude, in Financial Planning from Texas Tech University in 1999, where she was a Presidential Scholar.
In 2015, Ms. Smith was awarded a Gold Stevie Award for Female Executive of the Year and was a finalist in both 2014 and 2015 for the Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) Award, given to women for outstanding leadership and achievement in clean energy. She has also been recognized by Texas Tech University’s College of Human Sciences, winning its 2009 New Achiever Award.

Outside of the office, Ms. Smith loves to sail, travel, and host dinner parties for friends. She also serves on the board of Real Options for City Kids.
