Ted Brandt
Ted Brandt is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Marathon Capital, an independent investment bank focused on serving clients within the global sustainable technology, clean power, and infrastructure sectors. He is responsible for managing the firm’s global operations and strategic decisions and overseeing the firm’s various transaction teams, which have completed almost three hundred ESG-related transactions since Marathon’s inception.
Before founding Marathon Capital in 1999, Mr. Brandt held various positions within several sizeable non-bank finance and leasing companies. During this 15-year period, Mr. Brandt was promoted from his initial origination positions into increasingly senior positions where he managed the P&Ls of several major financing/leasing companies, managed staffs of up to 400 employees, successfully closed several securitization financings, served as the chair of several investment committees and entered and exited numerous lending niches via asset M&A.
Mr. Brandt received a BA in Economics in 1984 from Oberlin College and an MBA in 1987 from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He serves on the Advisory Council for Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago and was formerly on the Board of Trustees for Oberlin College. He holds his Series 7, 24, and 63 licenses.
