Onsite Collegiate Wind Competition

This year’s CLEANPOWER Conference and Exhibition featured a partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy Collegiate Wind Competition (CWC), demonstrating ACP’s investment in the industry’s future workforce. CWC helps college students prepare for clean energy through experience with real-world wind energy technology, project development, finance, communications, and outreach. ACP worked with CWC organizers to plan and facilitate events during the conference, providing a platform for CWC participants to showcase their work, connect with leaders in the clean energy industries, and prepare to join the workforce.

KidWind Project at CLEANPOWER

ACP hosted a national KidWind Challenge at CLEANPOWER. KidWind focuses on teaching middle schoolers and high schoolers about the clean energy. They host local and national challenges across the country for students to participate in design and construction competitions—one of which will be at CLEANPOWER this year.

Explored Agrivoltaics in Minnesota: Enhancing Land Use for Ecological Benefits

On Thursday, attendees joined us on a tour to observe the practical application of agrivoltaics in Minnesota. We visited a site in the southern metro area where Cannon Valley Graziers (CVG) and Natural Resource Services (NRS) have partnered to utilize targeted sheep grazing as a part of integrated vegetation maintenance to help manage and maintain a native pollinator ecosystem on a community solar garden. Arlo Hark (CVG) and Jeff West (NRS) provided insights into vegetation installation and management practices and discussed the scalability of agrivoltaics systems across the country, exploring the intersection of renewable energy, ecology, and agriculture.
