Next slate of speakers announced for CLEANPOWER 2021’s all-star lineup

You don’t want to miss the exciting line-up of industry leaders, political VIPs and business professionals we have lined up for next week’s CLEANPOWER 2021 Virtual Summit. Joining the growing list is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR).

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA)

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is the 52nd Speaker of the House of Representatives, having made history in 2007 when she was elected the first woman to serve as Speaker of the House. As Speaker, Pelosi has made the climate crisis her flagship issue, enacting comprehensive energy legislation in 2007 that raised vehicle fuel efficiency standards for the first time in 32 years and making an historic commitment to American home grown biofuels. For 33 years, Speaker Pelosi has represented San Francisco, California’s 12th District, in Congress. She has led House Democrats for 16 years and previously served as House Democratic Whip.

Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR)

Senator Ron Wyden has served as U.S. Senator for Oregon since 1996. He has taken the lead on policies that are helping to grow the economy in areas like improved infrastructure through his Build America Bonds program, micro and nano-technology, e-commerce, and through incentives for cleaner sources of energy. Wyden serves on the Committees on Finance, Budget, Intelligence, and Energy and Natural Resources. He is Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and a senior member of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Senator Wyden has earned a reputation as an independent voice, offering creative, common-sense solutions.

Networking

In addition to the wide range of speakers and education being offered, the virtual summit will offer time for networking to allow attendees to make those crucial business connections that only happen at CLEANPOWER. Registered attendees are now utilizing the matchmaking tool where they can match with exhibitors, products, sessions, tracks, and peers based on self-selected interests. The tool offers attendees the opportunity to be paired with the most promising and relevant leads in attendance based on personalized goals. Matchmaking is available for all-access passholders from June-December 2021, and only through June for virtual-only participants.

DOE Collegiate Wind Competition

The CLEANPOWER Virtual Summit will also feature the 2021 virtual U.S. Department of Energy Collegiate Wind Competition, where multidisciplinary university teams present the culmination of their work in wind energy over the past year. These students were challenged to design and test a model wind turbine, plan and financially analyze a wind plant, and create connections with the wind industry and their local communities. We encourage CLEANPOWER attendees to connect with the 2021 competitors at the virtual industry networking event and cheer on the 2021 winners at the virtual awards ceremony, both on Friday, June 11. The full schedule and links to the virtual events are available on the CWC website, or you can pre-register through Whova.

 WRISE Virtual Luncheon

The WRISE Luncheon normally held at CLEANPOWER will be held virtually on Friday, June 4. The event will be a great opportunity to connect and provide the community with a unique opportunity to network virtually while supporting WRISE’s mission to promote the education, professional development, and advancement of women in renewable energy. Please note, this event requires separate registration.

Register now to join us at the CLEANPOWER Virtual Summit next week and the CLEANPOWER exhibition in Salt Lake City on December 7-8.  With the exciting launch of the American Clean Power Association and a new political landscape, it’s an important time for the industry to come together and maximize the opportunity to shape a cleaner and more prosperous energy future for America!
