Pre-Conference Programs
Mock Crisis Training—How to Communicate Effectively in a Worst-Case Scenario | $125
Monday, March 30 | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
A crisis communications plan is a vital part of emergency preparedness and response. A company and project’s success is dependent, in part, upon its reputation. Having a solid crisis communications plan, that is integrated with existing operations, and is well-tested, understood and practiced by employees, is designed to not only preserve reputation, but to protect the safety and wellbeing of the communities that we serve.
This session will cover crisis communications protocol, planning, and preparation aimed at ensuring accurate, consistent and timely communications, both internally and externally; eliminating or minimizing confusion and rumors; maintaining credible relations with the media, the public and other entities; and identifying and clarifying responsibilities and ensuring future preparedness. Participants will role-play “mock crisis” practice, using scenarios and details relevant to their specific roles and the industry.
Tribal and Renewable Energy Industry Convening: Listening, Learning, and Celebrating Successes | $95
Monday, March 30 | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
The American Clean Power Association, in partnership with 7 Skyline and Interwest Energy Alliance, presents a convening of tribes and the renewable energy industry for meaningful dialogue about how tribes and developers can partner on clean energy initiatives. There is a great need for mutual understanding between tribes and industry partners. Opportunities for new private industry/ tribal energy partnerships are just now being explored around shared renewable energy development objectives. Many of the 575 federally recognized US tribes are actively seeking to collaborate and navigate these relationships; forums like this one provide a platform in which tribal leaders can share their voices and reach out to potential partners. The goal of this event is to foster meaningful connections and facilitate open dialogue between tribes and the broader energy industry.
