WINDPOWER 2012 Update: Xcel Colorado sets new mark with 56.7% wind

Xcel Energy set a new record April 15 between 3 and 4 a.m. with 56.7 percent of the electricity on the Xcel Colorado system coming from wind power, a company spokesperson announced at a utility luncheon at the WINDPOWER 2012 Conference & Exhibition in Atlanta, Ga., today.

The new mark surpassed the system's previous high of 55.6 percent, reached Oct. 6, 2011, between 4 and 5 a.m.
