ICYMI: ACP CEO Heather Zichal introduces Commerce Sec. Gina Raimondo during POLITICO Playbook Live event

Last week, ACP CEO Heather Zichal gave opening remarks and introduced Department of Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo for a discussion with POLITICO Playbook Live. Sec. Raimondo is a long-time clean energy champion, providing groundbreaking leadership that helped to bring offshore wind to U.S. shores when she was governor of Rhode Island. So the Secretary had firsthand experience with the main discussion topic, the Biden Administration’s American Jobs Plan, which has a number of provisions aimed at growing the nation’s share of clean energy. You can watch Sec. Raimondo’s full interview here.

And as much as the American Jobs Plan is an infrastructure and climate plan, it’s equally a job creation plan. Over 1 million Americans could have direct clean energy jobs within the decade, across all 50 states. Passing the American Jobs Plan would shift the clean energy transition—already well underway—into high gear. This generational job creation opportunity was a central focus of Zichal’s opening remarks, which you can check out at the top of this post if you missed them last week.
