I heart wind week a success!

We had a lot of fun these past few days with #iheartwind week! We hope you did too.

First, we'd like to state our thanks to the original creator behind #iheartwind week, Iberdrola Renewables.

Participants tweeted and shared pictures from all over the world, including the United States, Canada, France, Greece, and even Australia.

Many different organizations participated including GE Renewable Energy, EDP Renewables, the Renewable Northwest Project, the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, ACORE, Breeze Energy, S&C Electric Power Company, Windpower Engineering, Media Matters, Clean Technica, CanWEA, Wind Works Vermont, the Alternative Energy Company, UpWind Solutions, Beyond Coal Michigan, the League of Women Voters of the United States, and others.

In addition to sharing pictures, here are just a few things participants had to say about wind power:

  • "The Kansas cattlemen with turbines in their pastures told me their cows love the turbines, lining up in the shade in summer and using them for wind blocks in winter." – Joe Bush

  • "I heart wind because so many amazing people work in this industry! Blessed to have such awesome coworkers #windworks" – Meredith MacDonald

  • "I love the view provided by wind turbines along the interstate, and emission free electricity too #iheartwind" – Melissa Hall

While we are still seeing photos uploaded on Twitter and Facebook for #iheartwind week, here's a sample of some of the amazing pictures shared celebrating wind power.

The Renewable Northwest Project's Amy Baird even made a video.

Thank you to everyone for their participation and continued support of American wind power. Please continue to share why you love wind power with friends, colleagues, and even your elected representatives so that we can keep this American success story going!
