This pre-conference seminar provides an introduction to the fundamentals of utility-scale clean energy. Anyone wanting to lean the basics of utility-scale wind, solar, energy storage and transmission will benefit from this engaging, interactive seminar which will also prepare you for the sessions taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday in the exhibit hall. Energy Storage 101 Pre-Conference Seminar 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM CT

This pre-conference seminar will provide a primer on energy storage market drivers, applications, valuation, technologies, and integration considerations. It also provides an overview of available reference documents to support further learning.

We will address:

Which trends are shaping the market for energy storage?

Which applications for energy storage are currently being deployed?
How are energy storage costs and benefits determined?

Which energy storage technologies and currently being developed, and what are their attributes?

What are the integration and implementation considerations for energy storage projects?

What are the current priorities for energy storage applied research? What resources can be used to learn more about energy storage?

The seminar will consist of two segments:

  • 1:00 PM– 3:00 PM CT | Intro to Energy Storage Technologies and Applications facilitated by Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)
  • 3:00 PM CT – 5:00 PM CT | Energy Storage Market Operations facilitated by Customized Energy Solutions (CES)

Join us for the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion lunch.  In recognition of the new Energy Transition for All initiative, the networking lunch will provide the opportunity to foster discussions on this important issue as well as recognize those who have already made strides within the clean power industry. Charybdis Tour  7:00 AM – 7:00 PM CT                                                 

Join ACP to tour the first US-flagged Wind Turbine Installation Vessel, Charybdis, under construction at Keppel AmFELS Shipyards in Brownsville, Texas. The vessel will be used in the installation of Dominion’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) project off the coast of Virginia, as well as Orsted and Eversource’s Revolution and Sunrise Wind projects in the northeast. Charybdis is expected to be operational by 2024. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.  Registration closes Friday, May 13th.
