Tax extenders, EXPIRE Act, to hit Senate floor this morning

The Senate is scheduled to take up H.R. 3474 this morning, which will serve as the vehicle for the EXPIRE Act, Sen. Ron Wyden’s tax extenders legislation. The bill, which passed committee in early April, includes a two-year extension of the PTC (2014 and 2015), added via an amendment introduced by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley. You can find the Senate’s morning session LIVE on C-SPAN 2 starting at 10 a.m. EDT

Sen. Rob Portman, whose energy efficiency bill failed to clear the Senate yesterday, has told reporters he expects there to be a full debate on the extenders legislation.

The PTC is a successful, bipartisan energy policy that works for Americans, helping to drive down costs while providing clean, reliable wind power to over 15.5 million homes.

Don't forget to visit Power of Wind and tell your senator that the PTC must be extended. You can also call the Capitol Switchboard directly at (202) 224-3121. Remember to call twice and speak with both of your state's senators.
