Stand Up for Renewable Energy in Connecticut

A bill recently passed by the Connecticut state Senate and now under consideration in the state House, Senate Bill 1138, will protect Connecticut’s renewable energy goals and will lower the cost of developing clean energy like wind and solar.

Connecticut has a Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) that calls on the state’s utility companies to purchase a growing percentage of their electricity from renewable energy resources through the year 2020.  This bill will keep the RPS strong and allow Connecticut to participate with the other New England states in joint purchases of renewable power, lowering renewable energy costs.

Please contact your state Representative today.  Start by entering your zip code below.  Tell them him or her that the state RPS policy is driving clean, homegrown, affordable renewable energy development in Connecticut and across New England.  We have created a template email for you, but encourage you to personalize it, as your unique words will have a more lasting impact on your legislator.
