The Oregon state legislature is currently considering a bill that would eliminate coal from the state’s energy mix while increasing its Renewable Portfolio Standard to 50 percent by 2040. The plan will put Oregon on track to meet its greenhouse gas reduction goals, which call for a 75 percent reduction in 1990 carbon emissions levels by 2050.

Please join us, Ben & Jerry’s, Lyft, Vestas, EDF and many other companies in urging our representatives to pass House Bill 4036. Through support of this important bill, we can create a low-carbon future and a stronger, more resilient economy by fostering innovation, advancing public health, spurring economic development through job creation, and speeding technological advancement throughout our region.

Please contact me today at kmonaghan@awea.org or 202-249-7349 to get a copy of the letter of support, and sign your company on today.
