There’s a new exhibit coming to the Detroit Zoo: wind power.

The zoo recently announced a wind power purchase agreement that will supply enough electricity to power all of its operations. The move was part of its larger effort to limit environmental impacts and waste.

Detroit Zoological Society executive director and CEO Ron Kagan said, “Our hope is to inspire others to look to clean, renewable energy sources.”

So the next time you go to see the polar bears, camels or giraffes, know their habitats are powered with clean, affordable wind energy.
