Guest blog: Act now to take part in "Why I care about wind energy" photo and video contest
This guest blog post is by Iberdrola Renewables and promotes the current "Why I care about wind energy" photo and video contest. Entries are due by September 7, 2014.
Why do you care about wind energy?
For us, it’s easy. We develop wind energy because we care about our communities and our future. We develop wind energy because we care about local economies. We develop wind energy because we want the next generation to inherit a healthy planet. We develop wind energy because we are leading the transformation to a clean energy future.
Why do you care?
Is it because wind energy relies on clean, renewable power and can never be used up? Or is it because wind energy is secure, homegrown energy? Perhaps it’s because wind energy is helping to fight climate change? Or maybe it’s because wind energy means good jobs and economic development in rural communities?
Whatever it is, we want to hear it!
In anticipation for your amazing responses, we’ve partnered up with American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) to host a photo and video contest – giving you the opportunity to show us why you care about wind energy.
So how does it work?
Submit an original video, 1-2 minutes in length, that shows why you care about wind energy. Upload your video to YouTube, submit your link in the entry form and then share it on your social channels! The Grand Prize Winner will receive a VIP Conference Pass to AWEA’s WINDPOWER 2015, as well as a $1,000 American Express gift card.
Snap a quick photo or Vine or Instagram video showing why you care about wind energy. Once complete, tag it with #WhyICare and publish it on Facebook, Twitter, Vine or Instagram. Each week (for six weeks), a contestant will be randomly selected to receive a $250 American Express gift card.
The contest is going on now and ends September 7, 2014. So get your submission in ASAP!
Have fun, be creative and show us why you care about wind energy! For inspiration, check out last year’s awesome video entries, or our previous photo contests, #IHeartWind and #IHeartRenewables.
Please read the full contest terms and conditions to make sure your entry is eligible.
