Federal Tax Reform

The U.S. Congress’ tax committees are currently reviewing the country’s tax code.  They are assessing the effectiveness of particular tax incentives, and evaluating how the tax code should be reformed.

The federal renewable energy production tax credit (PTC) and investment tax credit (ITC) have been effective tools to keep electricity rates low and encourage development of proven renewable energy projects.  However, these tax incentives are set to expire at the end of 2013.

We encourage you to write to your elected officials today and urge them to support the extension of the PTC and ITC, and encourage them to establish long-term, predictable policy for the wind energy industry.  We urge you to personalize your letter by sharing information about your job and your company’s work in the wind industry.
