ACP Statement on State of the Union Address

WASHINGTON D.C., February 7, 2023 – American Clean Power Association (ACP) CEO Jason Grumet released this statement following President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address:

“Tonight, the President underscored how clean energy is growing our economy, lowering consumer energy costs, and cutting pollution.

“Landmark investments in domestic clean energy are creating jobs, while protecting consumers from volatile global energy markets. American companies have seized the opportunity announcing over $65 billion in job-creating investments in onshore and offshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects. More importantly, these investments will also make energy more affordable for hardworking Americans.

“Over the next several years, these and future investments will lead to nearly one million American jobs and strengthen our domestic supply chain while reducing our dependence on foreign energy.

“We look forward to working with both parties in Congress and the Biden Administration to advance policies that will accelerate clean energy projects and lead to a more secure energy future for all Americans.”
